One round apparently wasn't enough last year in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals; the Detroit Red Wings and my Pittsburgh Penguins will once again face off with one another! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN!!! I never expected Pittsburgh to be in the Finals again, after their embarrassing loss last year. Considering their coach that led them to the Finals was fired in mid Februrary because Pittsburgh wasn't doing too well, I was wholeheartedly surprised the new coach was able to turn around the Penguins to get them into the playoffs and be able to go this far into the Finals again. It was quite interesting how the playoffs started for Pittsburgh too:
First round Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia Flyers (last year's Eastern finals) W 4-1 W 3-2 L 6-3 W 3-1 L 3-0 W 5-3 Pittsburgh wins the series 4 games to 2! They beat Philadelphia yet AGAIN in the playoffs! :-D
The second round was VERY close to being the same exact opponent for Pittsburgh again, which would've been the New York Rangers. Instead, the Washington Capitals did the improbable and came all the way back from 3 games to 1! This is the matchup the NHL has been waiting for. Syndney Crosby vs. Alexander Ovekchin.
Second round Pittsburgh vs. Washington Capitals L 3-2 L 4-3 W 3-2 W 5-3 W 4-3 L 5-4 W 6-2 Pittsburgh wins the series 4 games to 3! :-D
The Eastern finals for Pittsburgh this year will obviously be different than last year as they already played Philadelphia. Pittsburgh actually played the lowest seed remaining in the playoffs, the 6th seed Carolina Hurricanes.
Third round Pittsburgh vs. Carolina Hurricanes W 3-2 W 7-4 W 6-2 W 4-1 Pittsburgh wins the series 4 games to 0! :-D
Hopefully this rematch in the Stanley Cup Finals will be a lot cleaner for Pittsburgh this time around. Like I said, they were just outright embarrassed last year. I don't know, I really think Pittsburgh has the chance and the poise to take down Detroit this year, I just hope it will happen this time!!! GO PITTSBURGH PENGUINS!!! BEAT DETROIT!!! |

| Michigan State vs. North Carolina |

I was afraid this was going to happen. My two favorite men's college basketball teams played for the championship awhile ago. To be honest, it wasn't even a game. One team outmanned the other and outplayed them in all aspects of the game. It was quite disappointing. Before I tell you who won and lost, I will recap how each team got to the championship.
Michigan State First round: Robert Morris W 77-62 Second round: USC W 74-69 Sweet 16: Kansas W 67-62 (a great, come-from-behind victory!) Elite Eight: Louisville W 64-52 Final Four: Connecticut W 82-73
North Carolina First round: Radford W 101-58 Second round: LSU W 84-70 Sweet 16: Gonzaga W 98-77 Elite Eight: Oklahoma W 72-60 Final Four: Villanova W 83-69
Let me remind you the championship game was being played in Detroit, Michigan at Ford Field, so basically this was a "home" game for Michigan State. "Home court advantage" would not matter though for them as they were the team that got dominated by North Carolina, losing to them in the championship 89-72! :-( Since I have been a Michigan State fan longer than a North Carolina fan, I was really hoping MSU would pull the unimaginable and win the tournament in their home state! That would have been awesome!!! Yet, it wasn't meant to be. Second place isn't too bad though; it's just not first. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for North Carolina since they are my other favorite team. I just didn't want them to win. I hate it when 2 of my favorite teams square off, and the other team (the one I don't want to win) wins it all! :-( It's so frustrating!!! Oh well! Good job Michigan State on making it to the championship! Hopefully, you will be back to form next year and maybe get to win the championship this time! I do have to give props to North Carolina though. They did an awesome job against my favorite team! They basically repeated their previous performance against MSU during the Big Ten-ACC challenge, when they played at Ford Field. North Carolina rightfully embarrassed the Spartans 98-63! :-O Maybe the next time these 2 meet, it won't be as lopsided! GO MICHIGAN STATE!!! |

Well both of my favorite women's basketball teams are officially out of the tournament. North Carolina was surprisingly ousted early, exiting out of the second round. They barely beat UCF in the first round 85-80 and lost against Purdue 85-70 in the second round. Michigan State, however, lasted longer than I thought. They barely squeaked by Middle Tennessee in the first round 60-59, women-handled Duke in the second round 63-49, and lost within the last few moments during the Sweet 16 against Iowa State 69-68. See, the surprising win there was against TOP-SEEDED Duke. Of course, many people it wasn't fair for Duke to face Michigan State at Michigan State. The women's tournament is scheduled differently than the men's. Michigan State had won a bid to host the first 2 rounds and apparently the lower seed usually hosts the higher seed in the second round. The Michigan State women obviously has the sixth woman on their side as the crowd was fired up to get avengence against their former coash, who now coaches Duke. How sweet it was for the ladies to drown Duke at home. It's just too bad they had to lose within the last few seconds. Oh well. So I no one left to cheer for in the women's tournament, but both of my men teams are battling out to advance to the final four. There less much of an upset in the men's tournament this year than the women's tournament. A lot of good teams went down early for the women. |

It's that time again; time for the dramatic, exciting month that is dubbed March Madness!!! :-D The NCAA basketball tournament starts for the men today with the women to start Saturday! The men Michigan State Spartans start off battling Robert Morris in the first round, while the men North Carloina Tarheels go against Redford. Remember, I'm more of a Michigan State fan since I live in MIchigan, but I started liking North Carloina when they won the championship in 2005. For the women, Michigan State faces off against Middle Tennessee, while North Carolina starts off with UCF. I really hope one of my four teams at least get close to the final four in the respective tournaments. That would be awesome!!! GOOD LUCK MEN AND WOMEN MICHIGAN STATE AND NORTH CAROLINA!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D |

| Retiring Is the New Fad!!! |

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre sure knows a thing or two about retiring from football....because he did it yet again today, this time as a New York Jets quarterback. Having previously retired as a Green Bay Packers quarterback, Brett got the itch to play again, informing Green Bay of his decision to return. Of course, they had already decided to move on with quatterback-in-waiting Aaron Rodgers. So on August 4th it was decided that the organization part ways, sadly, with quarterback-great Brett Favre. He ended up with one of the surprise teams many sports analysts didn't see him going to--the New York Jets. After already completing one of his best seasons last year for the last time at the helm for Green Bay, Brett certainly did not live up to expectations. I'm not saying he was bad because he led his team to key victories, but unfortunately Brett was bothered by shoulder pain late in the year that ended up effecting his performance. Thus, today Brett decided to retire yet again but as a New York Jet. The retirement announcement was different than last year. Instead of holding a news conference, Brett was on a telephone conference with many reporters. With how he held up last year (he got very emotional), it's not surprising in the least to see him make this move, albeit in a different and unexpected fashion. Once again, he stated like he did last year that he just felt he did not have the fight left in him to keep on playing, especially after the coach for the Jets had gotten fired. The system change for Brett was very tumultuous, but he worked his butt off on getting better. It is VERY doubtful to see Brett Favre return YET again from retirement, but no one knows for sure. I mean, he has already done it once. I'm sure it wouldn't be surprising if he returned again. But of course, the situation would have to be right and I'm sure he would want to be on a playoff-contending team. So long Brett, yet again, you will be sorely missed (if you stay retired this time!). |

In a remarkable turn of events, the Arizona Cardinals finally got their prolific offense going aginst my Steelers awesome defense. First, the Cardinals scored a touchdown. Then they pinned the Steelers down by their own 2 yard line or so. Pittsburgh tried very hard to get out of the dangerous spot but they couldn't get anything going. On the third down play, one of the Pittsburgh players committed a penalty while in their own endzone (I believe it was holding) which means that Arizona automatically gets a safety for that error. So the score is now 20-16. Arizona gets the ball back since a free kick (the punter punts the ball to Arizona from the 35 yard line) follows a safety. They score a touchdown within two plays to go ahead 23-20. And that is where the game stands. Arizona is now ahead at the two minute warning, 23-20!!! What a remarkable comeback! I just hope my Steelers have enough left in their engine to get the team within scoring distance in the last 2 minutes of the game! Gosh, I don't want to see them lose to Arizona!!! THAT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING!!! |

The Arizona Caridnals couldn't get any offense started so the Pittsburgh Steelers scored a touchdown to make it 10-0! Then Arizona finally got on the board to make it 10-7! Before halftime, Arizona was threating to take the lead for the first time. Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner attempted to connect with what he thought was an open wide receiver but cornerback James Harrison stepped in front of the receiver, intercepting the pass. What ensued is one of the best interception returns for a touchdown I've ever seen!!! :-D James first sprinted off to a good start with a wide open field. Then he bobbed and weaved out of Arizona Caridnals' grabs who attempted to take him out of bounds. He then had a clear landing until the endzone where a Arizona receiver who had stepped out of bounds came back out to tackle James. The way he tackled James actually helped James into the endzone as James ended up landing on the body part of that Arizona receiver, never once touching the ground. He then got into the endzone!!! It's kind of hard to describe, but the interception return was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It was reviewed and the touchdown was upheld, propeling the Steelers to a 17-7 halftime lead!!! WOW, IT WAS SO INCREDIBLE!!! GO PITTSBURGH STEELERS! ONLY 2 MORE QUARTERS TO GO!!! :-D

I CAN'T BELIEVE KEN WHISEHUNT, COACH OF THE ARIZONA CARDINALS AND FORMER OFFENSIVE COORDINATORY FOR THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS, CHALLENGED THE TOUCHDOWN PITTSBURGH QUARTERBACK BEN ROETHLISBERGER BLANTLY SCORED!!!! C'MON!!!! It's obvious he called the challenge because in Super Boxl XL Ben scored a controversial rushing touchdown that never really happened as he never crossed the plane. No challenge was called then. Apparently, there was better video evidence of Ben not crossing the plane this time in Super Bowl XLIII. The apparent touchdown was not scored the same way as in Super Bowl XL, but it was closely identical. I thought it was pretty apparent that Ben scored the touchdown, but I guess the referee saw different. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE KEN DID THAT!!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!! Oh well. President elect Barack Obama was officially sworn into office today around 12:05 as the 44th president. He is the first black president in the United States. Considering Martin Luther King, Jr. day was yesterday, his famous "I Have a Dream..." speech comes true since Barack will be the first racial president. I am very hopeful for his presidential term because I think he is absolutely inspirational with his speechs; and even though I don't know much about what he wants to bring to the U.S., I have extreme faith in him. This day will forever live in history as when the United States finally decided to change. It's about fricking time too! I'm very glad America is finally turning around! I am really touched and inspired about his speech. I just really hope his term will be a lot better than Bush's.

MY PITTSBURGH STEELERS ARE HEADING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! :-D :-D :-D Just 3 short years ago, Pittsburgh was in Super Bowl XL here in Detroit, MI, beating the Seattle Seahawks 21-10! The venue has changed, the opponent has changed, but my Pittsburgh Steelers remain the same! This time, the Steelers will face off against the Arizona Cardinals, the surprise underdog of the playoffs! That's right, the Arizona Cardinals. The same Arizona Cardinals who used to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Detroit Lions for worst team in the league. How the Cardinals have flown mighty high this season. It's quite unfortunate the Philadelphia Eagles couldn't overcome the deficit in the second half the NFC championship game because that would have pitted Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh, the battle of Pennsylvania II (the first one was in the NHL playoffs last year). I was really hoping for that. But the storyline for the Super Bowl is still interesting as the head coach of the Cardinals used to be the offensive coordinator of the Steelers and he was passed over for the head coaching position when Bill Cowher retired. So was Russ Grim, a former Steelers assistant coach. So this will definitely be interesting. Anyhow, unlike the Steelers last visit to the Super Bowl, Pittsburgh was a #2 seed, meaning they would get a bye week and get to host playoff games. They did not secure home field advantage though because that went to the Tennessee Titans. Anyway, during previous seasons where Pittsburgh has had a bye week and/or home field advantage, they have always gotten to the AFC Championship game but never to the Super Bowl. 1995 was the last time Pittsburgh made it to the Super Bowl (XXX) like that, but they unfortunately lost to the Dallas Cowboys 27-17. I remember during these "home playoff drought" years rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers but always being disappointed when it came to the AFC Championship game. NOT THIS TIME!!! My Steelers had to once again face the San Diego Chargers in the Divisional game. It was quite a battle, but Pittsburgh upended them 35-24!!! Pittsburgh would go on to face their fierce division rival in the Championship game, the Baltimore Ravens (once known as the Cleveland Browns). Pittsburgh has the #1 defense in the league, Baltimore is #2. It was quite a nail-bitter, but Pittsburgh secured another Super Bowl appearance by beating them 23-14!!! On to Tampa Bay, Florida the Steelers go for Super Bowl XLIII!!! :-D :-D :-D Since Pittsburgh has had such a rough time in years past at home during the playoffs, the Steelers has elected yet again to wear their away jerseys (so they won't be jinxed). Even though Pittsburgh won't be considered the "host" of the Super Bowl (as in Super Bowl XXX), they will OFFICIALLY break their 14 year long "home playoff game" curse as long as they win (I don't think it should matter what jersey they wear in the Super Bowl)!!! :-D This is the 7th time Pittsburgh has been to the Super Bowl, and they could become the first ever NFL team to have 6 championships!!! GO PITTSBURGH!!! BEAT THE ARIZONA CARDINALS!!! :-D :-D :-D |

The Michigan State Spartans footbal team finished the regular season 9-3 with big wins over arch-rival Michigan (at Michigan stadium!), Notre Dame, and Wisconsin! This is their first ever season to accomplish that feat! This is also the first time the Spartans finished back-to-back seasons with a winning record!!! There were many other interesting statistics about the Michigan State Spartans this year, but I haven't been able to track them down. Even though they were unable to overcome powerhouses like Ohio State or Penn State, the Michigan State Spartans still made to one of the Bowl Championship games. They faced Georgia at the Capital One Bowl! I wasn't able to watch most of the game as I was working, but what I did see wasn't very good. The Spartans were unable to overcome Georgia unfortunately as they lost 24-12! This isn't uncommon for the Spartans to falter like this as they always have a hard time winning in bowl games for some reason! Oh well, I'm just happy the football team has been a lot better than most recent years!!! I couldn't believe Michigan had such a rough "rebuilding" year though!!! haha, I'm glad they finally faltered for once. Anyway, I hope my Spartans will be able to continue their success in the next few years. I would hate to see them lose their momentum of winning seasons! |

Wednesday, 4:08pm Beat Dr. Wily's second form!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
Wednesday, 4:10pm FINALLY DESTROYED DR. WILY'S LAST FORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
AFTER MUCH TRIAL AND TRIBULATION; AFTER MANY, MANY, MANY, MANY DEATHS; AFTER MANY RE-STARTS, AND AFTER SO MUCH AGGRAVATION I FINALLY DEFEATED PROTO MAN MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D
Yeah, I'm THAT excited!!!! :-D It took me so long to beat for many reasons. First off, I didn't get a chance to play it every night liked I thought I might. Then, I got really busy with school. Now on my Thanksgiving break, I finally get a chance to have some time to MYSELF for a change!!!! After playing this morning and nearly coming close to beating it, I finally defeated it shortly ago!!!! :-D Granted, it WAS NOT pretty but I was having much difficulty. Since Proto Man is SO different control-wise from Mega Man, I guess I just had to think about everything strategically. This means enemy placement, trap placement, boss battles, number of lives remaining, energy tank usage, and just getting through the fricking level!!!! I did this so I could have plenty of lives, plenty of energy tanks, and plenty of luck when it finally came to the last Dr. Wily level and the battle against Wily himself!!! I AM SO GLAD THIS IS OVER!!!!! I was getting FRUSTRATED beyond belief that I could not defeat Mega Man 9 with Proto Man! BUT I FINALLY DID!!!! HORRAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D Now to work on the rest of the things in Mega Man 9..... :-P
Another major reason why I did not have the time to play Proto Man mode was that I knew that it would probably take me some time to beat it. Therefore, whenever I did have the time to play Mega Man 9 I would play around with the special stage or the endless attack mode. Or if I felt like it, work on getting all of the special points fulfilled or playing the harder modes.
First off, when the special stage was released I was determined to beat it. It did not take me very long to get it. Quite a few re-tries yes, but I finally got the stage in handle. I was having major issues with beating the second Dr. Wily boss in the stage WITHOUT an energy tank. But I finally did it. Then I finally reached him.... Fake Man. Yeah, what a name right lol. It took me only a couple of tries to finally realize what his weakness and pattern was. When I finally got it down, I just barely beat him with little life remaining!!!! :-D So I was happy I beat that stage!
The other thing I worked on the most was the endless attack mode. I have quite improved with that finally. After my last record of 55 screens, I improved much more over that with a record of 73!!! Then I beat that with 83!!! Then I beat that record with 92!!! Do you see the pattern here lol??? Well I actually finally destroyed the pattern with beating that record with 123 screens!!!! :-D I just played it again a little bit ago and I beat that record but only with 130 screens!!! So that's where I stand right now with endless attack mode is 130!!! Not bad at all!!!
I have also played the harder modes a little bit and have progressed further with getting certain points complete. I haven't really accomplished much with this since I've been busy with life, but I will now have the time to work on it since I finally beat Proto Man mode!!!!
Well other than that, my life has just been really, really busy as you can tell. But everything has been going pretty well. Nothing really to update on. Except that I finally beat Mega Man 9 as Proto Man!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-P |

As you all know, today was election day. I hope everybody that is eligble to vote did vote! I did! Thanks to my community being small, I only had to wait about half an hour to vote. And as everyone shoud know, this was a historic race. Barack Obama is the first African-American presidential candidate to be up for presidential nomination! He is facing off what I think is another "Bush clone," John McCain. Whether Obama wins or loses, this election will always be remembered as the first US election to break the color barrier! It's about fricking time too! To think it almost because the first US election to break the gender barrier; Hillary Clinton ran against Barack Obama for democratic presidential nominee. She didn't come close to gaining the nomination, but her race for presidency you can say was somewhat historic as well. Anyway, I am watching the results come in from different states now as to who will win the electoral votes for that state. So far, Obama is leading by a HUGE margin.
IT IS OFFICIAL!!! BARACK OBAMA WILL BE THE FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES!!! I VOTED FOR HIM!!! America, we are part of history right now! Hopefully this change will be the better, but I definitely think Barack has a chance to bring America together!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!! THIS IS A HISTORIC NIGHT!!!

Well after Mega Man has had his turn, it is now time for his brother Proto Man to get a shot at the the limelight for the FIRST TIME EVER in Mega Man history!!! :-D That's right, Proto Man was avaiable for PS3 owner's yesterday, and I just got him now!! Playing as Proto Man will give you higher jumps, a charge shot, the sliding ability, along with 2 new tools of him to help him along his adventure. You will be able to use his shield, but the catch of playing as him is that if he gets damaged he gets double the amount of damage and bounces back twice as far as Mega Man. So this should definitely be an interesting turn for Proto Man!!! He will be able to use the special weapons acquired from the bosses but he won't be able to visit Dr. Light's lab to purchase any items. So you're basically left with only about 2 or 3 (that I know of) energy tanks in the ENTIRE game!!! :-O Unfortunately playing as Proto Man voids ANY resemblance of a plot in the game, which includes the cut scenes and the endings. EVERYTHING that was in Mega Man's plot was taken out! :-( That's a huge disappointment, but I guess Capcom/Inticreates felt that they should only have him as a special character to potentially try him out maybe for his own series!!! That would be cool! So anyway, just like Mega Man, I will post my adventure with him on this post. This should be interesting and will probably make the game twice, if not more, as hard with him than Mega Man!!! GO PROTO MAN!!!! FIGHT FOR.....WELL, SOMETHING....(lol, inside joke)!!!!
I also got the endless attack mode where a stage that seemingly "never ends" was produced to test's a player's skills to see how far they could go. I'll have to try that later. :-)
EDIT 1: Friday, 10:18pm Concrete Man beaten! :-) I probably would've beaten him the first time as Proto Man, but I got stuck with his weapon shot then I died a couple times. Playing as Proto Man is definitely different damage-wise, but if I can control not getting hit I should be alright!
EDIT 2: Friday, 10:26pm Galaxy Man beaten!! :-)
EDIT 3: Saturday, 10:18pm Oh my goodness!!!! After I beat Galaxy Man, I went for Jewel Man alright. As Proto Man, for whatever reason, I had THE HARDEST TIME trying to clear his stage!!!! I had probably about 8 game overs or so, give or take a few lol. I was getting really frustrated!!! >_< I wanted to beat his stage because I was trying to go in a specific order. Well, I finally beat the stage, and this time I only died once!!!! I think that's much better than yesterday lol! So yeah, I finally beat Jewel Man!!! :-)
I also played around a little bit with the endless stage attack mode last night. It's pretty cool! The farthest I've gotten is 16 screens!!!! Woohoo! :-P
EDIT 4: Saturday, 10:48pm Plug Man beaten!!!! :-)
EDIT 5: Saturday, 10:56pm Torando Man beaten!!!!! :-)
EDIT 6: Saturday, 11:06pm Magma Man beaten!!!!!!! :-)
Got a new record for the endless attack mode: 34 screens!!! :-P
EDIT 7: Wednesday, 10:35pm Hornet Man beaten!!!!!!!! :-)
EDIT 8: Wednesday, 10:42pm Splash Woman beaten!!!!!!!! :-)
First my old record was barely beaten with 37 screens, but then I did much better later on. My new record for the endless attack mode is 55 screens!!! :-D
EDIT 9: November 26, Wednesday, 3:38pm Defeated the first Dr. Wily boss!!!!!!!!! :-D
EDIT 10: Wednesday, 3:46pm Beat the second Dr. Wily boss!!!!!!!!!! :-D
EDIT 11: Wednesday, 3:54pm Barely destroyed the third Dr. Wily boss!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
EDIT 12: Wednesday, 4:02pm All 8 robot masters re-defeated!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Well after I got to Wily's third form of his machine, I only lasted a little while because he got me with little energy left when I still had some energy tanks to use. :-( So, I had to start the fight from the beginning. Thank goodness I still had 5 energy tanks left, but I had already used the mystery tank. I don't know if I got the "official" weaknesses of his machine forms correct, but I took him down pretty quickly. So, without further ado,
I HAVE OFFICIALLY BEATEN MEGA MAN 9!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D
The ending is of course SPECTACULARLY AWESOME!!!! I won't spoil it for the one Mega Man I know that's one here, but let's just say it's very retro!!!! :-) I have gotten about 16% of the challenges complete without knowing I was doing them so I guess now I will go back to get those done. Then, I will wait until Proto Man is ready to be downloaded as a playable character for only $2!!!! :-D Playing as him should definitely be interesting.... Anyway, I'm just SO GLAD I have gotten this game under my belt!!!! That's right, rack up another Mega Man victory for Mr. Ole' Blue Bomber himself, ME!!! :-P
FIGHT MEGA MAN, FOR EVER-LASTING PEACE!!!! :-P |
